Define Wireless Communication

The main WPAN technology is Bluetooth, launched by Ericsson in 1994. Bluetooth is an industrial specification for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN) that enables the transmission of voice and data between different devices through a radio frequency link in the ISM band of the 2 , 4 GHz. It offers a maximum speed of 24Mbps with a maximum range of about thirty meters. Bluetooth technology, also known as IEEE 802.15.1, has the advantage of having a low power consumption, wireless communications something that is ideal for use in small peripherals, there are several versions of this technology:

1.     Bluetooth v1.0 and v1.0b
Versions 1.0 and 1.0b have had many problems, and manufacturers had difficulty making their products interoperable. Versions 1.0 and 1.0b include in hardware the address of the Bluetooth device (BD_ADDR) in the transmission (the anonymity becomes impossible at the protocol level), which was a great setback for some services planned for use in environments Bluetooth

2.    Bluetooth v1.1 (2002)
Ratified as IEEE 802.15.1-2002 standard [2]
Fixed many errors in the 1.0b specifications.
     Added support for unencrypted channels.
     Received signal indicator (RSSI).

3.      Bluetooth v.1.2 : unlike 1.1, it provides a complementary wireless solution to
co-exist Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, without interference between them. Version 1.2 uses the technique "Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH)", which performs more efficient transmission and safer encryption. To improve user experiences, V1.2 offers voice quality (Enhanced Voice Processing) with lower ambient noise, and provides faster communication setup with other bluetooth devices within range, such as PDAs, HIDs (Human Interface Devices), laptops, desktops, headsets, printers and mobile phones.
